  • By Car: from Northern Italy you can reach Volterra via Pisa or Florence:
    • Florence:
      from Florence, follow the A1 Highway direction to Rome and exit at Firenze Certosa, then take the free motorway to Siena, until the exit called “Colle Val d’Elsa” and from this point following the signs to Volterra;
    • Pisa:
      from Pisa, follow the free motorway (FI-PI-LI SGC), direction to Florence and exit at Pontedera-Ponsacco. Then take the road to Capannoli, La Sterza and follow the signs to Volterra. It is about 1 hour drive.
      As an alternative follow the free motorway (FI-PI-LI SGC), direction to Florence and exit at Pontedera.Then take the road to Peccioli and then to Volterra. It is about 1 hour drive.
